Our family has had the pleasure of working with three wonderful SLPs in our more than two years with Susan Cohn & Associates. My son came in as a 3 year old with a list of maybe 30-40 words he could say (but didn’t really willingly use) and is now an expressive, confident 5.5 year old, and no longer on an IEP for speech through the school district! I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for help with their child’s speech language skills.

My son has been working with Amy Svensson for 3 years. He is 15 now and needs specialized guidance in speech and socialization as much as he ever did. The teen years are especially difficult for the child on the autism spectrum. My son has a willingness to work with and learn from Amy That kind of rapport is uncommon in my son’s world. As a parent I find her office cozy and friendly, and at the end of each session Amy spends time with me to explain the lesson and progress in a meaningful way. On a personal level, Amy has been able to help my son with real life solutions as my son weaves his way through this complicated word of communication and socialization.

I have been going to Susan Cohn and associates on and off for 7 years as the parent of two special needs kids with autism and apraxia. Their therapists were professional and at the top of their field. Their initial evaluation reports were thorough and well done. They had no problem coordinating with the SLP’s at the school district. They also coordinated with University of Washington to help us with our diagnosis. Their location in Issaquah is easy to get to. We hope to be with our therapist, Toddie Downs, for a long time to come. She is very committed to helping our son.

Miss Toddie is amazing! My daughter was a little shy about going to speech therapy. She is eight years old and really needed help with learning how to articulate the R sound. By the time she completed her second session with Miss Toddie, she was able to say the R sound!! I could not believe the rapid progress my daughter made, I was truly shocked! She is no longer shy about going to speech and really looks forward to going every week and can’t wait to see Miss Toddie. My daughter is really proud of the progress she has made!

Both my sons have come to Susan Cohn for speech therapy, and we’ve been thrilled with the results! My older boy saw Amy Smith for a year and the improvements in his speech were impressive. Amy was kind, patient, and encouraging, and he always looked forward to seeing her. My younger son has seen both Cassie Callaghan and Amy Smith. His vocabulary has exploded, and he went from barely saying a few words to putting multiple words together within only a few months. He continues to get speech therapy weekly and to improve at a dramatic pace. We’re so happy with Susan Cohn and would recommend them to anyone!

We are so grateful for Miss Cassie and Miss Tracy! When I first brought my son in to see them he was struggling to communicate and not saying any actual words. Max continues to add to his now large vocabulary and even communicates with sentences! This would not have been possible without the efforts, guidance and overall awesomeness of Miss Cassie and Miss Tracy. I know they care about my son and their help has meant the world to us!

There are wonderful, caring speech therapists here that will give your child the individualized therapy he/she needs. When we first started bringing our son here, he was 2 1/2 and he could only say around 5 words. In the past 6 months since he has been seeing Amy Smith and Amy Svensson he is now talking in sentences and has made amazing progress. I can’t say enough good things about them!

I just wanted you to know how much we love Jessie. She is excellent! I was the mom who was terrible about the home part of the therapy, and she was so good and productive during her sessions that it overcompensated for my lack of attention. Friends and extended family noticed the improvement right away. Thank you!

Amy (Smith) we think you’re fantastic and are so happy that ‘M’ has had the opportunity to work with you. You’ve helped him so much; his confidence is really growing as his speech intelligibility improves.

We are so excited to be working with Amy Svensson at Susan Cohn & Associates. It has made such a positive impact not only on our son, but on our entire family. My son usually resists going to scheduled events during the week, but he is excited and enthusiastic when it comes to his time to “play with Miss Amy”. Amy is warm, engaging, and enthusiastic with him – and he doesn’t even realize how hard he is working. As a parent, I am in awe of all of the information Amy possesses in regard to my son’s therapy. She is constantly introducing new/up-to-date therapy techniques, and discussing ways we can use everyday activities at home to help our son with his therapy. I have told our pediatrician, our ophthalmologist, our friends, and anyone who will listen – Susan Cohn and Associates is a wonderful experience!
