Danielle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech & Hearing Sciences at Washington State University in 2009 (Go Cougs!), then earned a Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders & Sciences at the University of Redlands in Southern California in 2011. She has gained invaluable experience by working simultaneously for the Issaquah School District in preschool and elementary settings, as well as at Susan Cohn and Associates since 2012. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Danielle spent her summers working as a clinician with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes in Bellevue; she is trained in their programs Seeing Stars and Visualizing & Verbalizing. In addition, Danielle has Level 1 and Level 2 Certification for PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). While she loves all things communication related, Danielle has particular interest in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, early/nonverbal communicators, language learning delays, Childhood Apraxia of Speech and fluency disorders. Danielle maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as a Washington state license. When she’s not at the clinic or school, she enjoys spending time hanging out with her husband, son and their two pugs.

“My favorite thing about being an SLP is empowering kids to find their confidence. The kids that we see are here to work on something that is usually very hard for them, so it is incredibly important to approach them in a way that makes them feel successful. It is my hope that at the end of every session, a child can feel that they worked hard and can leave feeling good about their efforts.” ~Danielle
